March 22, 2010

1. Review of Minutes - previous meeting
2. KMCA  - Rebekah needs to add Misha Auslin to mailing list.  
2. Reports -
    a. Treasurer - $2706.33 in accounts.  155 members, with 13 memberships due to expire in March.
    b. Library Committee - Henry shared a letter from Nancy Floreen reiterating the Council's support for the County Executive's plan to renovate the library in its existing location.
    c. Public Safety Committee
    d. Parks Committee
3. Upcoming meeting
    a. Cynthia will be in charge of getting the microphone
    b. Councilmember Trachtenberg - we should ask about the library renovation, and also request that the person in charge of snowplowing services attend a future meeting.  Finally, Rebekah will try to assemble a list of suggestions for making future snowstorms more manageable, including setting 'alternate side of street' parking in neighborhoods and revisiting the current prioritization scheme.

    c. Jennifer Chambers and Northwood HS student will present information about the new Northwood Trail project
4. Other business
    a. Library renovation - Since there are many different potential renovation plans for the library, some more dramatic than others, Henry will try to figure out what the planning process is and how the KMCA might provide input.
    b. newsletter - the group discussed the possibility of a printed newsletter once a year, but tabled any decision
    c. money from ads that were never published - Rebekah will ask David about returning funds for ads that never ran
    d. agendas for upcoming meetings
        1. perhaps invite Nancy Floreen
        2. invite head of snowplowing services
        3. Oxford House (Sheri Glisson)
        4. WSSC
    e. Construction - Rebekah is getting updates from Natalie Cantor and will post them on the Website.
