Re: Kemp Mill Master Plan

Dear Council President Ewing:

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the Kemp Mill Master Plan. On behalf of the Kemp Mill Civic Association ("KMCA"), we appreciate the inclusiveness and transparency with which the process of revision has been conducted.

Members of the KMCA have been afforded the opportunity to review and discuss the plan, and no objections have been raised. In our view, the plan preserves the traditional character of the community that our residents treasure. We note that certain properties in the neighborhood continue to be zoned in a manner that would permit future multi-family-unit development, and we would want an opportunity to express our views in the decision-making process before any such development took place.

However, for the moment, those concerns are purely hypothetical, and, accordingly, we are pleased to state for the record our support of the Master Plan. We ask that these comments be included in the official record.
